Meet Jack

Down syndrome is not just a diagnosis. It is contagious joy. It is innocence and unconditional love. Down syndrome is perfectly imperfect.

Down syndrome was a surprise. It wasn’t a path we planned to take but it’s a journey we are so glad we didn’t miss. The saying is true – we really are the lucky few. Now days, it’s hard to imagine life without those with “a little extra”.

Down syndrome is not just a diagnosis. It is contagious joy. It is innocence and unconditional love. Down syndrome is perfectly imperfect. It is a community. It has given us a network and meaningful connections. Sometimes the days are long and hard, but it is never lonely.

Down syndrome has taught us so much – giving us a new perspective. It has gifted us the ability to see the beauty in everyone and everything. It has given us full hearts, literally bursting with love for our sweet boy. It has given us voices that we raise in advocacy, shouting the worth of every being. Down syndrome has given us more sweet snuggles, infectious smiles, and silly giggles than we could have ever imagined. Down syndrome has made us better individuals, and a stronger family.

Down syndrome is not something that happened to us. Down syndrome is something we became. Down syndrome is us.
